Europe vacation idea
Rome to Paris by Rail: Six Cities Across Europe
A flexible independent rail vacation linking Rome, Venice, Vienna, Munich, Zurich and Paris with hotels and curated sightseeing already built into the route.
Why This Trip Stands Out
This is the kind of Europe trip that works for travelers who want the freedom of traveling independently without having to build six separate city stays and every train connection from scratch. You move at your own pace, but the major rail legs, hotels and key sightseeing can be organized before you leave.
- Six major European cities connected primarily by rail.
- Two nights in each destination, giving the route a consistent rhythm.
- Independent travel rather than a continuously escorted group.
- Prearranged sightseeing in Rome, Venice, Munich, Zurich and Paris.
- Plenty of room to change hotels, add nights, reverse the route or extend the trip.
Sample Itinerary
Days 1–2 | Rome
Begin with two nights in Rome and included sightseeing focused on the Colosseum and Roman Forum, with additional time to explore the city on your own.

Days 5–6 | Vienna
Continue by rail to Vienna for two nights. Use the city as a base for grand architecture, cafés, music and your own sightseeing choices.
Days 7–8 | Munich
Travel to Munich for two nights, with city sightseeing and a day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle built into the sample itinerary.
Days 9–10 | Zurich

Days 11–13 | Paris
Finish with two nights in Paris and sightseeing that can include hop-on, hop-off access, a river cruise and the Eiffel Tower before the journey ends on day 13.
