Japan Express: Tokyo, Hiroshima, Kyoto & Osaka
A 9-day value-priced Japan trip using trains and public transit to connect Tokyo, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Kyoto and Osaka.
Why This Trip Stands Out
This is a shorter, more affordable Japan option that still connects several of the country’s most important cities by rail. It is especially good for travelers who are comfortable using public transportation, traveling light and trading luxury hotels for location and experience.
- Tokyo and a guided walk through Shibuya.
- Hiroshima Peace Park and the A-Bomb Dome.
- A day on Miyajima Island.
- Kyoto’s Gion district and Kinkaku-ji.
- Osaka’s energetic Dotonbori district.
Sample Itinerary
Days 1–2 | Tokyo
Begin in Tokyo with time to settle in and explore neighborhoods including Shibuya.
Days 3–4 | Hiroshima & Miyajima

Days 5–7 | Kyoto
Continue to Kyoto for traditional districts, temples and free time to explore Japan’s cultural capital.
Days 8–9 | Osaka
Finish in Osaka with Dotonbori and time to enjoy the city’s food and nightlife before the trip ends.
